Sapphire, ruby, emerald, spinel, tourmaline and other fine coloured stones. For significant stones, laboratory reports covering identity, treatment and, where it can be determined, origin.

From brief to delivery
01 – The brief
A private conversation about the occasion, your preferences, your timing and your all-in budget.
02 – The quote
A written quote sets out the brief fee, the sourcing fee (and how the brief fee is credited against it), and the margin over trade price. Nothing begins until you accept it.
03 – The search
Elloise approaches suppliers across her network and reviews each candidate and its report.
04 – The shortlist
A small, considered shortlist, with images, video, report details and an honest view of each stone's weaknesses as well as its strengths.
05 – The decision
You take the time you need. Once you choose, a deposit secures the stone.
06 – Delivery
The stone comes into Gem House's care, is checked against its report and photographed, then travels to you insured and tracked, or to the bench if it is to be set.
"A report tells you what a stone is. It can't tell you whether it's the right stone."
Every significant stone is accompanied by an independent report from a recognised laboratory. Elloise reads it as carefully as she looks at the stone: checking the weight and measurements against the stone in hand, and questioning anything unclear. Where further independent testing would add real certainty, she will recommend it before you commit.
Fees, in plain terms
Sourcing begins with a flat brief fee. If you go ahead and buy, that fee is credited against the sourcing fee, which is a percentage of the stone's price. The stone itself is supplied through Gem House at a margin over trade price, and that margin is shown to you. Every figure is in your written quote before you commit. There is no minimum budget, and prices are quoted on enquiry.
Payment by bank transfer or card, through a secure online invoice.
